COASTAL SOCIAL ECOLOGICAL MILLENNIUM INSTITUTE – SECOS

Director:

Stefan Gelcich: PhD in Natural Resource Management, Full Professor in the Department of Ecology, UC Faculty of Biological Sciences.

Deputy director:

Pilar Haye: PhD in Biological Sciences, with specialization in Evolutionary Biology, full professor of the Department of Marine Biology, UCN Faculty of Marine Sciences.

About the center

The goal of SECOS is to lead social-ecological systems (SES) research by focusing on the challenges to transition towards sustainability in coastal environments; SECOS aims to understand global, regional and local drivers of change as well as the social-ecological traps and solutions towards to achieve sustainability.
