CENTRE FOR SUSTAINABLE URBAN DEVELOPMENT – CEDEUS

Director:

Waldo Bustamante: PhD in Applied Science, full professor of the UC School of Architecture.

Deputy Director (ad int.):

Jorge Gironas: PhD in Civil Engineering. Associate professor at UC Department of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering.

About the center

In Chile, 90% of the population is urban, a condition that leads the academy to address the different city needs with an interdisciplinary approach, giving rise to CEDEUS, an initiative where researchers work on the challenges posed by interdisciplinary research in the field of sustainable urban development. Through research, training and links with the environment, CEDEUS makes recommendations for public policies to better solve the critical problems that Chilean cities currently face.
