About the center
MAS’ main goal is to prepare the new generation of researchers for the so-called “Big Data Era” of Astronomy. Advances like the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT) and the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) need the development of new algorithms and smart software to analyze all the information. For this reason, MAS has brought together astronomers, engineers and statistical mathematicians to foster a synergy that evolves into new tools useful in this new paradigm.
