Deputy director:

Marcela Peña: PhD in Cognitive Science and Psycholinguistics, full professor of the UC School of Psychology.


About the center

The increasing presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Chile, reflected in the existence of a group of renowned scientists and the first generation of Startup Companies focusing on AI in our country, together with the essential role that AI has in all areas of human activity, represent a unique opportunity to create in Chile the National Center for Artificial Intelligence Research (CENIA). This center seeks to promote research and state-of-the-art technology transfer through multidisciplinary collaboration, exchange of ideas, promoting talent and gender equality. The mission is to become a pillar for the development of AI in Chile and Latin America, promoting a sustainable and ethical technological progress in harmony with the environment and human development.
