Sergey Kuleshov: PhD in Physics and Mathematics, professor in the Department of Physical Science, UNAB Faculty of Exact Sciences.

Deputy director:

Francisca Garay: PhD in Experimental Particle Physics, Assistant Professor in the Institute of Physics, UC Faculty of Physics.

About the center

The aim of SAPHIR is the studies of subatomic physics, focusing on areas related to the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, the development of cutting-edge technology and transfer to interdisciplinary sectors. Their team is the only physics group in Latin America employed by ATLAS (the largest detector at LHC) to build and fabricate elements for its improvement.
