About the center

The Center for Excellence in Astrophysics and Related Technologies (CATA) performs research on the formation and study of the large-scale structure of the Universe, the evolution of galaxies and the formation of stars and extrasolar planets. Its main purpose is to conduct frontier astronomy using the new generation of mega telescopes in the Atacama Desert and to train new generations of astronomers.
